Funding available for Permanent Supportive Housing
The Corporation for Supportive Housing has released an RFP (Request for Proposals) for its Social Innovation Fund in order to support models of supportive housing connected to coordinated health services for vulnerable people who are high users of emergency health services and are homeless. Applicants must be 501(c)3 organizations. CSH is hosting a bidder’s webinar on December 8th. Interested organizations may read here for more information or to register.
Positions available at Community Works
Community Works is hiring for two Coordinators and an Agreements Manager for the Community Works Community Conferencing project, recently funded by the CDCR to implement and evaluate a new initiative in Oakland, aiming to divert at least 95 youth annually from the juvenile justice system. Applications are due before January 4th; see links for more information.
Legislation of interest at Board of Supervisors
The Board of Supervisors has recently considered two pieces of legislation of interest. First, Sup Mirkarimi has sponsored an ordinance to establish a payroll expense tax exclusion for compensation paid to individuals who have a felony conviction. It will be heard by the full Board this Tuesday December 6th at 2:00pm. Second, Sup Weiner, Farrell, and Cohen have sponsored an ordinance to establish a local Sentencing Commission. It was heard in Rules Committee on November 17th, and awaits a full Board hearing.

Enfolding Families is an art installation created with Community Works’ Restorative Justice Arts program in San Francisco County jails. A project funded by The San Francisco Arts Commission, the exhibit explores family legacy and the impact of incarceration.
